''It is a potentially dangerous entrant.'' << Seems to me that when you look at competitive advantage today, Intel has it over MSFT. Intel has the Fab capacity that MSFT cannot duplicate. MSFT has an OS that is inferior to a free OS. There may be a lot more to the Red Hat investment than Intel is letting on.
