To: Frank C. and Denver Techie: I could not get an answer to this question on the Nortel thread so I want your technical advice. Ken What is the difference between a chassis based Layer-3 switch and a fixed configuration Layer-3 switch? Is the Accelar (Bay) a fixed configuration switch or a chassis based switch? I notice that Cabletron claims a 33% market share for its smart switch router which they describe as a chassis based layer-3 switch. I would appreciate a clarification of this issue. Ken
