John, international clinical trials are under way to evaluate whether the Cox-2 drugs are effective in colon cancer and Alzheimer's disease. In Alzheimer's, as the brain ravages neurons in the brain, the damage causes inflammation, which in turn causes further damage to surrounding tissues and cells. If Cox-2 inhibitors would reduce inflammation in the brain, the theory is that more brain tissue would be spared. I don't know how far the trials have progressed. Since you saw the news flash, perhaps there's a paper published/to be published shortly, or just Super Aspirin Fever heating up. Anthony
