Pat,

It looks like buyout speculation is rampant again, so I'll add a little of my own. <g>

If memory serves, the last Bullstroke buyout rumor message that had numbers attached was for around $3-$4. Originally, the price we heard was $8, but that was the failed Adaptec deal. (Or at least, that's who we thought it was.) As I recall, there was a later message with lower numbers. I tried to find the original message over on Yahoo, but couldn't. (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.)

At any rate, if the $3-$4 range is correct, that would put the new price target at $6-$8. A 10 for 1 buyout would mean that the acquiring company would trade somewhere around $60-$80. There are a couple of companies that would be in that range. The most obvious is Sun Microsystems (SUNW), which trades at $67 and change. Another possibility is Hewlett-Packard at $59.

I've always thought that an ANCR suitor would most likely be one of the potential OEMs, and Sun seems to fit best to me. This is purely speculation on my part, so don't take it as (good) investment advice. <g>
