Great post -
Except that the equation for the cable guys has been changing. They have started to create high speed fibre as the backbone upstream, in order to maintain the bandwidth for individual users as usage grows.

I have been watching some of the discussion in the cable business and I think they are making the investments necessary to stay ahead. Cable may become the medium of choice. Those guys aren't as dumb as I thought...
