Paul, I don't know any more than you do, but what you say just doesn't make sense. Think about it. Why would SGI 3 years ago, at the height of its post-Jurassic-Park after-glow, sign a deal with Nintendo just to design and engineer a game system for one customer, get paid for the engineering and then go away ? SGI is not a contract design house; at that time its main business was going pretty well -- why would it chose to get sidetracked into doing a major project like that for apparently very little reward ?

I think there is a lot more to that deal than we know, but this is just speculation.
