It is Amazing. I didn't think the company and their investment banking advisers would be so bold as to split the stock at this point. This move is so obvious any idiot can see it's shallowly hidden purpose, IMO.

The move comes late in the cycle and after most short-term short sellers have covered. The longer-term shorts will just wait for the inevitable collapse after the split.

But this move isn't so much about shorts v. longs. It's about the company manipulation of communications and events in order to enrich themselves. The investors who are climbing on board at this late stage of the game and who are picking up shares from the insiders will be walked over, as usual, by the Wall Street licensed stock prostitution machine. Bezos and sons has played this very well. they have taken a well run Internet company with flawed fundamentals and parlayed it into a huge fortune already. And this is just the start of the plunder. They will probably have taken out several hundred more millions before the company earns a dime in profits. Even if the company's grand plans end up with mediocre results or failure, they have already won the game.
