I'm sure you will agree that AOL's business prospects did not change significantly overnight.

So how come the stock was up 16% today?

Answer: Short Covering.

Question # 2: Why would anyone short a stock that Merrill, Morgan, Goldman, Robertson Stephens,
Lehman Brothers, Cowan and Salomon are all pounding the table on?

Answer: I have no clue.<

Thank God I have the puts (as opposed to a straight short) after all. Still, shorting (like going long) is a long term play as far as I am concerned. If the shorts would not overextend themselves they would not be compelled to pull anchor every time this one gets run up. Thank goodness it doesn't trade Nasdaq anymore or AOL could have gotten much more out of this "news". Do you think that there was substance to this lastest run-up? Thanks.
