Take a look at the 'Software in Your Cereal' article from PC magazine @ zdnet.com . It talks about a product that allows massive distribution of a secured application which can then be rented for a few hours rented for the weekend outright purchased It doesn't have the security of a wavemeter, since it is a software solution. It is doing server-side security so a connection needs to be made more often than with a wavemeter. However, it is available on all PCs now. How much of a threat is this product (and similar), since they can get established before the wavemeters start rolling out into homes near you?
