You should tell that to Tom Kurlak who wrote that report.
Using his unit estimates, he has MPU Revenue at $19,474M.
But if you do the arithmetic on Xeons:
1Q 2Q 3Q 4Q Total Xeon 1.0 1.2 1.8 2.3 6.2
Xeons sell for $1500-$3000 each. Using $2000 ASP on Xeons that comes to $12,400M.
If you do the arithmetic $19,474 12,400 ======= Leaving $ 7,074
Leaving 49.7M PII's, 46.9 Celeron, and 4.6 Pro (according to Kurlak's) model. No matter what (realistic) pricing model you want - the numbers will not add up.
Putting it another way, suggest any friendly (or otherwise) wager you care to come up with, and I will bet that Kurlak's 1999 numbers will be beaten (and beaten by a wide margin).
Regards,
Mary
