ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 1998-- Logic Innovations Inc. today announced plans to demonstrate the IP Encapsulator Data Gateway (IPEDG), which now outputs transport streams containing IP data at up to 54 Mbps, providing 100 percent utilization of a satellite transponder's bandwidth.
This combination of high throughput and utilization allows an ISP or satellite service provider to fill the entire satellite transponder's bandwidth for the most efficient and cost-effective data broadcast. Another important benefit for IPEDG users is the system's optimized data handling architecture, which supports a low latency and increased system performance.
The IPEDG is used in satellite uplinks to encapsulate IP data into a DVB® transport stream, for supporting datacasting applications. With the IPEDG, IP data is delivered directly to a satellite broadcast modulator for transmission to a LAN-based router or a PC equipped with a satellite receiver card.
