I've confirmed KIDE is Nintendo's merchandise licensing agent for "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." It was in KIDE's 11/13/98 press release. In fact, KIDE is the exclusive merchandise licensing agent for all of Nintendo's game characters everywhere but Japan. Here's the relevant paragraph from KIDE's press release:
"In addition to Pokemon and WCW, the Company continues to expand its merchandise licensing program for the revolutionary Nintendo N64 video game system and its game characters, including Super Mario, Donkey Kong and the much anticipated holiday release of The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time. The Company is the exclusive merchandise licensing agent representing Nintendo characters worldwide, except in Japan."
Zelda has been getting rave reviews and who knows -- it could be even bigger than Pokemon for KIDE. Below is a capsule of the super review Zelda got in the latest issue of Time magazine (I got the capsule off the Nintendo WWW site).
From Nintendo site
"Foolishly perfect, score one for Nintendo" Time, Nov. 23, 1998
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, due out next week exclusively for Nintendo 64, amazes game reviewer Joshua Quittner who claims the game has shattered the boundaries of the digital realm. "This is going to change the world...utterly amazing." "...Zelda is every bit as compelling as the best painting I've ever seen, or even the best movie."
