Scumbria - re: "It is a good thing for Intel that IBM never took the x86 processor business seriously." You couldn't be MORE WRONG ! IBM DID TAKE the x86 business SERIOUSLY ! That's why they cut the deal with Apple and Motorola to make the PowerPC ! IBM subsequently learned they couldn't compete directly with Intel in x86-land or indirectly with the PowerPC. Paul
