Bobby,
Hope you are correct. I'm long on INTC @57 and currently have some INQBH which I bought at a high for the day. I'll never put in a market order for options again. They were 9 1/4 when I put in my order and closed at 9 1/8; I paid 10 3/4. Bummer.

To All:
I just spent a month in Saudi Arabia (which is where I found this thread), and when I got home just before Christmas I had a month of mail to go thru; most of it junk. But I still had to look it 'cause there's always some important stuff in it.

Well, I took a few days off last week, and when I came home on Sunday, this thread was really full. Like that mohth's worth of mail I still had to go thru it (and there was a lot of junk) because there is always a lot of good stuff both pro and con. Thank goodness for 33.6 modems!

Someone had asked a question about shorting against the box affecting his time for capital gains treatment which I don't think was answered.
The answer is no. The short sale is a separate transaction and doesn't affect the time for capital gains on the actual sale of the stock.

Regards

Gary
