I'll tell you what I think, it is a good idea for the re-pricing and the momentum spin off (that and 20 cents will get you a cup of coffee). The re-pricing to me is a no brainer the stock is low and of course it isn't going to rebound in the near term. So what do you do knowing that, let your good people go (which probably are contacted by head hunters every week)I don't think so. You put a carrot out there that is attainable, so if the employee works harder the stock will eventually follow. The slate should be wiped clean from this point on (you can argue whatever you want for the reasons the stock is where it is, bottom line this is reality). As far as the Momentum spin off goes this is a perfect way for PSFT to spend lavish amounts on R&D. What is normal R&D spending 16-20% of revenues well that is chicken feed compared to SAP. This way PSFT can spend the 16-20% on their books plus a whole lot more on Momentums. Yes maybe it is smoke and mirrors but the bottom line is we are going to get a whole lot of R&D and not effect the Q earnings (and let me tell you if PSFT spent too much on R&D and dragged down earnings the analysts and shareholders would bitch about that). I tell you what, lets sit back and give them a chance every C0. stumbles but the great ones learn and excel. By the way I'm in @ 28 w/900 shares and not exactly jumping up and down happy with the share price. I will sit back and see where we go from here remember stocks go up and down and if you are in for the short term you shouldn't be in any stock unless your a day trader. Okay I said my peace go ahead and tear me apart.
