Mohan:
Very interesting article on NRIs, and the Indian Govt trying to lure / encourage the NRIs to invest in India. The Bisontine - Byzantine - bureaucracy & politicians on the take are not conducive to NRI investment in India. There is a basic flaw in Indian bureaucratic and political behaviour in that nothing gets done unless a reward awaits at the end of a deal or service. This flaw existed, according to published reports, at the very top, eg Bofors. Unless they start jailing the politicians and confiscating the loot, this flaw will not go away.
Sorry, I am taking such a dim view of the politicians and bureaucrats.
