Woodland Hills 'site' visit. I parked in the lot of the future Woodland hills site, and poked my head in. Fortunately came upon an executive who was meeting with some presumed lower level managers or trainers or maybe designers--I did not demand a roll call-). However, I did get a quick tour among the rubble--there was a major sandblasting event going on to blast the old paint off of the rustic looking beams. There was sand everywhere--was almost like walking through the beach, and there were not a few ladders, protruding wood planks and nails I negotiated with the brave exec to bring you all this report. The major demolition will begin Tuesday to get rid of a mezzanine and this will allow tall dramatic ceilings throughout. The site is actually larger than the Brea store, and the area for the huge bar was easily recognizable. Once that demo activity takes place they can start putting it all back together again, and still plan a January opening. And as soon as a minor neighborhood planning meeting takes place there will be banners and publicity surrounding the site. This site will be a reality soon,no doubt about it. And the view from my seat beer in hand will be that much more rewarding having had the privelege of seeing the place undone and stripped to the bones today.
