re:impeachment. Stick a fork in it, this is dead meat. Bob Barr and similar strong minded friends will likely get it marked up and sent to the floor if no deal is made especially since most don't believe in censure as a viable alternative anymore. It ain't a matter of moral outrage or constitutional duty or such anymore, it is a matter of counting heads. They very likely won't even have the votes on the floor and if they did there is zero chance of the Senate getting a 2/3 vote to remove him from office. The only real issue that could have revived momentum for impeachment would have been filegate which many Democrats would have had to seriously consider impeachable and Starr totally absolved Clinton on this and to the annoyance of many just revealing this during his testimony and not earlier. If they continue to call new witnesses Livingston and others are going to get pissed off if this drags into the next Congress. I'm beginning to think this may end up with some impotent "sense of th house" and "sense of the Senate resolution condemning Clinton and then we all go our merry way. As I said after the election the big headline was Clinton will remain as President and along with gridlock we have ideal political backdrop for the market.
