From reading Coherents 10K (they do own Lambda physiks) and browsing through their web page it seems that they are the most experienced excimer laser company in the world. Their most recent report talked of significantly increasing production of their Excimer lasers and spoke of ~25% increases in laser sales to equipment manufacturers. However, it seems that Coherent has not been aggressive enough in working with equipment companies in order to take a large part of the excimer laser market. Cymer has cooperative agreements with several semiconductor companies and it appears will become the excimer laser supplier of choice for semiconductor equipment companies. Don't count coherent out though. THey have more experience and background in the field. More production experience, and arguable the ability to put out a better product. THey just need to get on the ball and get some cooperative agreements going in order assure some market share. Just my .02.
