Crying in my PNCL Beer - Last week it was sub 3 and today over 7. This is the last time I whine about it. But what a non-pick it was.
All that research and to chicken out at the last moment, I want to be flogged.

For those interested in the semiconductor arena see below.

On the Semiconductor sector, some of the leading indicator stocks seem to be moving. AMAT is steadily going in the right direction as well as some of the enabling technology companies. ONTK is on the move and is ~ $17 and CYMI added another $5 on Friday. Both these companies represent 2 technologies that are coming into their own in 1997, Deep UV lithography and CMP (Chemical Mechanical Polishing). Mixed in with this is the see-saw stock CFMT. The Chartists among us can readily see a roller coaster between 17-27 or 22-26. Either way, this stock is doing a 10%+ fluctuation each week such that timing here could generate some good returns. I got out at 26 late last week and got in at 23 on Friday. It is now 25 and I am getting ready for another sell on a 10% swing.

All this seems to lead me to believe that this sector is about to or is currently in favor with the institutions. If I am right, we will experience movement here. Even PNCL, with its doubling over the past week, has only reach the pathetic level it dropped to last year from the $17 value it should have been. Bernie Wu from Seagate/Connor has assumed the position of Vice President of Marketing at PNCL. Press release was today.
