I have used both IE and Netscape. To be fair to MSFT, the latest version of Explorer compares quite well with Navigator. In fact Navigator has some features now which it borrowed from Explorer.

I don't like the fact that Microsoft is flexing its muscle with respect to Java by dropping it from Mac platform. It probably hurts Apple more than Sun. However, if MS drops Java from Windows IE, it certainly would represent a short term setback for Java. The likelihood of that is remote, but I wouldn't put it past Bill Gates especially with the possibility of browsers evolving into pseudo-operating systems.
