Crocodile, Well, what do you know? I was doing a search for a place to talk and get info on backpacking and up it pops. Good for you. this thread was so inactive, did a check to see if you were still on SI. OK. Q: Who has a recommendation on a good backpacking boot? Mid weight. I had a pair of Asolo Globaline, hate to admit, bought them too small. Now my daughter has a nice pair of heavy duty boots. Looking at, #1 Montrail Moranine AT and #2 Zamberlan Civetta at this time. What do you think? Trips, this next summer planning about six days on the Muir trail, will do the Ruby Crest trail in Nv. and a couple of over nighters in southern Or. I do try to do 5 to 8 miles with 52lbs. each day to keep the old legs in some kind of shape. I am retired and hiking sure fills the day. Good investing and hiking to all. okee-boy Paulden town Az.
