Fidelity Backs Nextel In Nationwide Rollout.....

Folks, this is your Smart Nextel correspondent reporting from the Windy City - and don't use that against me.....

Two weeks ago I visited my local Fidelity Invesment Center so I could transfer a pension account at my former firm to a "rollover" Roth - no relation to Web - IRA.

My how Fidelity has upscaled since I pulled my ALL of my non-IRA money away 2 years ago. Spoke with my "full-service" looking rep in her office about business, their marketing plans, etc.

Could not help but tell her about the revolution in communications, networking, bandwidth, etc. that's going on right now. Pulled out hte old i1000 after getting "zapped" and that's all she wrote.

Nextel Brain dump........

I told her I was working with Brokerage firms here in Chicago and elsewhere in the country to find opportunities where brokers could use Nextel in private networks where they could further lock in better value-added service to high-end profitable accounts - ie. give away the phone and watch what happens - more business comes in the door.

Fast forward two weeks later.....

My Fidelity Rep sees my in my sons Montessori school and comes to me with this big smile on her face. "Fred, the very next day after you told me all about your i1000 and Nextel we got this BIG package from Fidelity Corporate announcing that we were sponsoring Nextel phones nationwide to give to clients. We will be able to get our clients on these Nextel phones and begin the process of offering better service....just as you said Fred!!"

Folks, we are one step from the Soccer Moms. I hope Nextel knows the implications of this. I have my own private network here in Chicago - and I can say the "Fidelity Concept" really works. When you put people on these phones the energy quotient goes through the roof. We are just 2 months into the i1000 launch. Watch out everyone.

I am not sure how FIDO's clients pay their Nextel bills - be great if the cost was just debited from FIDO's Nextel billing pool.

More to come.....
