Craig, the Japanese parliament leader denied rumors of a potential tax cut in Japan after our markets closed (the Japanese press originally reported that their markets were up 3% on hopes of a tax cut). this sent the dollar up against the yen late Friday evening. LT seems to like Japan. i have no idea how the Japanese markets will respond to these rumor squashings come Monday. possibly he's making implied reference to Japan again. here's a link: dailynews.yahoo.com <<officials denied the plans, pouring cold water on the yen's gains.>>
