Illinois faces $114 mln in Year 2000 costs--paper Friday November 20, 10:14 am Eastern Time CHICAGO, Nov 20 (Reuters) - The cost to Illinois of fixing Year 2000 computer problems has risen to an estimated $114 million, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday. Citing a draft outline task force report to the General Assembly that it obtained, the newspaper said the cost of fixing the computer bug in dozens of state agencies reporting to the governor's office had jumped 65 percent over a cost estimate made by state officials late last year. The estimated price tag does not include other state agencies, such as the treasurer's office, that do not report to the governor, according to the report. Many computer systems were built to recognize only the last two digits
