My machine update

I finally put my order in with Jon at Minotaur Technologies who has been an absolute pleasure to work with. As you can imagine, we emailed back and forth about all my specifics for days and days. He was always relativly prompt (same day, even late in the PM).

I ended up ordering the Aopen AX6B Plus from Shark Computer who was one of only a few places that had it. They have a good resellerating.com rating. I had it shipped directly to Minotaur who should have it next week and can then begin the build.

I'm also ordering my own memory from Mushkin, who are also great people, and will pop it in myself. Minotaurs Corsair mem was just too expensive and I didn't want to use generic.
Also talked to Armadillo and Source Direct about the ViewSonic refurbs last week. They both say ViewSinic is about to open the gates as they have accumulated 3000 or so of these monitors. It seems that is their (ViewSonic's) way of handling these refurbed monitors ( to wait until they have a whole #$$% load to distribute). But that may be just the carrot on the stick shpel. we'll see next week.....

BTW Spots, do you think Tibetan Zen monasteries have ISP/cable/xdsl access? <g> Seems I might have the required temperment.. as do you<g>

another report from the stage of eternal existence (ie hardware shopping)
