What a shame, mis-promotion: Most Qcom licensees are NOT for infrastructure!
It seems that we are being "infected" by the deliberate mis-guidance of others. Most Qcom licensees are not at all to do with the argument here. A classic case of the totally ignorant or deliberate misrepresentation...it is not what you say, but rather what you don't say.
"Soft hand-off" is one of several IPRs in the court case, after speaking to some lawyers, of course I would have a differing opinion. It WILL be decided in court and even if (unlikely) that Ericy lose, Ericy will continue their growth with the diversity they have and new mobile infrastructure...but if Qcom lose, then what?
If people took the bother to check previous questions and statements, you would see that the WCDMA technology is awaiting new spectrum (licensing) and it is this, that holds up implementation. 3G services, in the long term, will be severely restricted within existing, mature, 2G spectrum.
Ericsson still dominate the mobile infrastructure market and also lead in much in IP and fixed network implementation. Ask yourself: What is AXE? Ask yourself: Is being in the top 3 (actually who is no 4, must be a really small supplier?) of mobile handset business is bad? |
