Hi David; I was only trying to show that Sam asked you an honest question about John having second thoughts. Darrin made a very insightful statement when he said that even Jesus had a doubt in the garden when He asked God to let the cup of crucifixon pass from Him, but not His will but God's will be done. To me this is the age old problem that Paul expressed about the battle between the flesh and the spirit. I cannot express this as poetically as Darrin does, but to find, as he says, the Christos within, we must overcome the desires of the flesh. Yes, Jesus was Christ, but also a man who had to experience man's weaknesses. John had this battle within himself, fearing what the Romans were going to do to him in the body. I hope that you are well.
Rom. 8:28
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."
