can someone explain the attraction of the Celeron vs. the P2 chip?

A celeron 300A is about $130 vs $400 for a PII 400. The ABIT BH6 mobo is a good candidate to overclock the Celeron 300A (someone help me if I do not have this right) to be a near equivalent to the PII 400.

I have not been a fan of overclocking in the past however I think it is a good deal. Even if you do not overclock the 300A CPU will make a nice machine.
