David,
"The Jews expected a political and material messiah, Jesus came as a different type and they rejected Him, so the kingdom was taken from them. That's what The Gospel of Matthew is all about, the Jews rejecting Jesus as The Messiah and God taking the Kingdom from them and establishing a spiritual kingdom."
This is another example of a literal, separatist interpretation, which results in the condemning of others. The Jews spoken of are figurative, not literal, like those remaining in Egypt. Literal interpretations like yours only serve to divide people, not draw them together. Interpretations like yours start Holy Wars and Jihads.
The Jews have a very deep understanding of the spiritual Kingdom. Perhaps you haven't looked.
It amazes me that people devote so much time to deciding who among them in not of God, when I believe that everyone on this board is, regardless of our differences. Why someone would wish to believe in something that says,"This is MY God, not yours. He took it away from you." Is beyond my belief. I guess I missed the part where Jesus walks around taking back salvation from everyone, and separates everyone. Dang! I hate when that happens...
