Money funds take in $9 billion

Money-market fund assets increased by more than $9
billion for the week ended Wednesday. Total
money-market assets now stand at $1.36 trillion, the
Investment Company Institute reported. Inflows to both
retail and institutional money funds were similar for
the week with both groups taking in roughly $4.7 billion
apiece. Assets of taxable money-market funds in the
retail category grew by $3.9 billion to $667.9 billion;
tax-exempt funds' assets increased by $838.6 million to
$143.1 billion. Among institutional funds, assets of
taxable money-market funds grew by $4.5 billion to
$502.9 billion; assets of tax-exempt funds grew by
$164.8 million to $47.9 billion. Assets of money-market
mutual funds for the week ended Nov. 18 were revised
to 1.35 trillion because of reporting errors and a
change in the number of funds reporting, the institute said.
