Peacelover---Somewhat off topic

Good morning! So I came home form the local pub about 3AM and have been up since. Having for a long time wondered what I was going to do with my late father's large stamp collection, and the possibility that it may in fact be worth something, I was finally motivated to finally TRY to learn something about the value of the collection and how to go about knowlegably disposing of it. I have absolutely no interest in philetics (sp), but many people obviously do ... so maybe I might be sitting on something (and maybe not).

Excited with challenge, I decided to start my research at Amazon, and found a few very specific books that would be helpful and, in fact, ordered a couple. This was my first real exploration of the Amazon site and I gotta tell you ... its really impressive...fast, seamless, and very user friendly. They also work very hard to personalize the sale and establish a long-term customer relationship. (Of course I also found a brand new book by writer I enjoy but will go to a local bookshop which sells reviewer copies at 50% off -- a substantial savings.

The point is, I was impressed with the site and they probably have me for a customer (BOOKS ONLY!) in future. In time TSIG may be competitive with other music sellers but your enthusiasm and belief that we will kick AMZ's butt really gave me a chuckle.

In the end, it will be the corporate alliances, marketing, name recognition (TSIG/CCI a household name) and the ability to somehow personalize the service which will determine who comes to the site and WHO CONTINUES TO RETURN! The $$ savings are good, but should not be viewed as the only attraction CCI has to offer.

If I need to get a book at 4AM again, I will most probably return to AMZ --- not B&N or the other booksellers on the net. They offered a site which ensured I will return -- simply because it is really good, and I am too lazy to start looking elsewhere. When people have that same fuzzy feeling about CCI ... we will really be in business!

Apologies for this long winded response ... but it seems to me that your assessment of CCI/AMZ may have been based on too many cups of very strong coffee! Regards, fly
