I know of some institutions doing two bypasses with the CTSI system, they have the perfusion tean standby in the room. The Heartport system will be aggressively marketed and will thus have more instant impact, not to mention the fact that MIDCAB's are a challenging procerdure from the surgical perspective.
I was at a cardiac surgery conference in December and the general consensus among CT surgeons was that CTSI was the future.
Already rumors have US Surgical and Baxter jumping into the fray. All CTSi has is a small window, I don't believe that they have anything patentable in there products other than some cannulae.
