dear kemble: <lack of arrogance of msd> I found your discussion interesting. I am obsessed with reminding people not to be complacent, and i have to include you when i say that. I do not know what your personal experience with technology is, but undoubtly you either know from first hand experience, or have many many trusted friends who know, that changes can happen. Recently rudeog wrote about signs he would like to see coming out of Dell; i think it was in the past week. I worked for IBM when they thought they would never get in trouble. I am absolutely sure, that you are open to challenges. Although i can understand your pride in this company,i am also sure you would do anything you could, to insure that the momentum this company has had, will continue. If i have any problem with things you have written which have come to my atention (i don't do out of my way) my problmes come from some of your statements about the man's honesty, and how you trust the man. This is not enough for a company of the size we are talking about. And my own criticism of your adoration of his smile, is meant to help construct an attitude of constant watchfullness, both within this thread and within the Dell corporation. I therefore hope you applaud my willingness to bring these things even to your attention. We will all move faster ahead, if we are constantly striving to keep an almost insane expectation, for what CAN happen. I would personally suggest to you that you dwell not at all on what has happened, because the real challenges lie ahead of us. AND THERE SHOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT BE ANY QUESTION ABOUT THIS....somewhat apoligetically, and with great love for your own love and ethics i hope i remain, yours, arthur lewis pritchard |
