Joe, regarding DeMark, the two most important atributes of his theories in my opinion are:

1. Establishment of a clear method for drawing trendlines. This is a basic element of technical analyses, and without specific rules it is unlikely that any two people would look at the same chart and agree on where to draw the trendlines.
2. DeMark encourages experimenting with his theories, perhaps using them as a starting point to develop your own theories.

DeMark has many different formulas and applications. I applied one of his techniques for the TA on DHI, but I was relunctant to so because the stock has "broken out" by less than 1/8 of a point out of
its trading channel. Interesting that we come up with the same target
price using two different disciplines. I described how to calculate the
target price using DeMark, but I'm not familiar with the calculations using H & S method. I'd be inclined to guess that the latter methodology involves equal upside movement to its previous downside movement, or parity on both sides of the equation. Am I correct ? If not, I'm interested in the calculations.

Fine points in your comparison of SHOO and CAND. Excellent arguments for SHOO, but I'm not convinced that the market will be
able to distinguish the two stocks as separate entities if and when CAND has further bad news, such as analyst downgrades.
