some of the purchases and product development has focused on the increasing usage of the Internet to do electronic commerce. So, SE is adjusting its future revenue mix toward software and away from VAN revs. They also recognize that EDI will be very gradually migrate to the Internet, but first for smaller companies. Their large customer base is not ready to move anytime within the next several years. I talk to companies all the time about their EDI plans and they continue to tell me that VANs are here to stay until the reliability of the Internet improves to the level of private networks (like VANs and direct connections). That will be years, not months.

VANs account for about 40% of revenues I believe, but even more of net income because of the profitability.
