John, the Internets are trading based purely on supply/demand issues, ie the supply of money being thrown at them. The fact that the AOL deal could affect the fundamentals of AMZN is not relevant for the simple reason that revenues and earnings are ignored for the Internets. But the fact that many dollars will now go chasing after AOL and NCSP means fewer dollars for AMZN. Some investors may even sell AMZN to buy more AOL.

All of these stocks are trading on "greater fool theory". But there are still a lot more fools out there, even buying on margin with borrowed money. Who knows how high it can go?
