John, All:

I need help understanding the mechanical aspects of the un-announced buy-in of my TTF short at Datek and I apologize for splashing this all over SI, but I realized that it fits into this thread.

Transaction described here:
techstocks.com

Apparently the clearing firm, NSSC's CNS arm, executed the buy-in, without notification to Datek.

Can anyone lead me to a full understanding of the Mechanical Aspects of this sort of buy-in. How is the timing determined? Why is there no notification? Did CNS know it was coming? How were my shares selected for the buy-in?

Thanks - somebody out there must know this stuff......

Peter
