Scangraphics Unit, Sedona Launched SpatialVision at Oracle OpenWorld -- Sedona Ships Industry's First Java Geo-Intelligence Solution Based on Sun's JDK 1.2

LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 23, 1998--Sedona(R) GeoServices, Inc., a Scangraphics(R) company (Nasdaq: SCNG), today announced that the Company has begun shipment of its new Java based business geo-intelligence application, Sedona SpatialVision(tm). Sedona successfully launched the inaugural release of SpatialVision at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco with involvement in Oracle's (Nasdaq: ORCL) Spatial Cartridge and Oracle8i Pavilions. SpatialVision was also demonstrated by Steve Cooperman and Peter Doolan of Oracle, to show the power of spatial technology in real-world business scenarios.

SpatialVision provides easy-to-use, timesaving features to optimize a business's rapid return on information investments by exploiting the geo-spatial components of business data. By displaying spatial information stored in Oracle databases on maps, businesses can use SpatialVision to better manage accounts, provide visual decision support information, optimize site planning, and in any application where business information is easier to understand when delivered visually on a map.

Sedona's partnership with Acxiom(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: ACXM) was highlighted in demonstrations aimed at retail banking which included SpatialVision's visualization of Acxiom Infobase(tm) data stored in Oracle Enterprise Server and Oracle Spatial Cartridge. In addition, Colin Matthews and David Wilson of Acxiom discussed the benefits of Oracle8i for business intelligence solutions in financial services.

Colin Matthews, Sedona's president commented, "We are pleased with the reception we've received from prospects, partners and vendors as part of this product launch. Oracle OpenWorld provided us an opportunity to interface with key leading customers and business partners. The feedback surrounding Sedona's business model and SpatialVision's functionality has all been positive." Matthews adds, "The company met all of its launch objectives for the event including enhancing strategic alliances with partners such as Acxiom and Oracle, gaining exposure in Oracle's marketplace, collecting hundreds of qualified leads, and demonstrating SpatialVision using next generation technologies such as Oracle8i and Java."

Developed purely with Sun Microsystems' Java (Nasdaq: SUNW), SpatialVision is platform independent and has been designed for optimal performance and deployment with the Internet. Use of Java enables simple, cost effective customization, adaptation to various environments and rapid development of complimentary and discipline-specific component applications. SpatialVision integrates with Oracle8i Spatial and can be run locally, remotely or through a web browser.

Companies interested in evaluating SpatialVision can register on the Sedona website, www.sedonageo.com. Sedona will be offering full use evaluation versions of the commercial release of SpatialVision to attendees who visit the Sun Java Software booth (no.1147) at the Java Business Expo at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center in New York City from December 8-10. Sedona will also be hosting a drawing for a free PalmPilot(R) at the booth.
