Yes, devices will continue to be produced at .35 and up. But simply continuing production of existing devices will not require large numbers of new masks. To me the question is, when laying out new devices what percentage of semi makers will elect to use .35 as opposed to smaller devices. I think that the .25u and smaller geometries will grow fairly quickly, and that there will be an erosion in the demand for older mask technology, which could lead to price erosion. The question is how fast, and I don't think it will be that fast, unlike the rapid conversion to TFI. Nevertheless the APM example is a good example of what can go wrong when you invest in trailing edge technology.

Incidently, I now own some DPMI, PLAB, and also some MASK. 8^)
