>>Actually it seems to me that you are attempting to promote yourself and your business on these boards, rather than engage in a true sharing of information and ideas.>>

This is a free world. You negative guys always attack the messenger when the ideas run against your grain. Great! You can always get a job in the White House.....

>>That's why you enjoy harassing Paul now, when the market is rallying. You weren't quite as much of a smart ass when the market was down.>>

I called it..... He called it. I was right. He was wrong. Period. If that's being a "smart" ass then I'm sorry. You got the right name I'll grant you that. Get off it Dwight......

>>We'll see how well the "buy and hold forever because the world has changed" portfolio theory works over the long term.>>

Sure, the old "we'll see" argument. Put your cards on the table. I do it every day.

One of my best friends, John Hussman of Hussman Econometrics, won Timer Digest of the Year for the 4th time in 7-8 years recently. He and I went to school together and we worked together - I got him his first job on LaSalle St. - but while his recent bearishness I do respect, I didn't buy the pat arguments that were being throw on this thing. The bearish arguement last spring was so widespread that the top was almost defined within days of the summer top. In less than one month Fortune had "Bear Market" on the cover.

Paul and you and others were in there shovelling something. Like trying to pile dirt on top of something that's already buried. When the crowd gets on top the grave its time to rise out and do the direct opposite - like buying more Novell......

>>Having lived through the prior one in the late 1960's, and studied the others, I'm afraid I know.>>

I'll grant you your history, but why not grant us some reality. We are not living in the 60's. The world has changed. I'm not saying we are forever immune from problems . Hussman provides me and others with more point/counterpoint that can bury Paul and you. The difference is that I respect John more for he is naturally a very positive person. I don't happen to agree with him short term, but he's had a tremendous record.

>>I see no need to continue this exchange.>>

Fine, go back in your box with Paul........

Enjoy!
