Why would LU pay $$$ to AWRE if this tech. is free? Lucent plans to make its chip set compliant with the International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) recommended standard for 1.5 mbps technology, called G.992.2 (or G.Lite). Aware, Inc., is providing ITU G.992.2-compliant technology and software for Lucent's DSP1690. ''Through our work with Lucent, we have been able to provide a flexible Digital Subscriber Line solution to the PC industry,'' said Michael A.
