Paul,
RE:"My guess is that the COMDEX DEMO reality set in:

The K7 had NO RAMBUS support - Intel's Camino DEMO did.

The K7 reportedly had a back side L2 bus speed of only 1/3 the CPU
speed. Not good - perfromance will suffer badly.

The K7 DID NOT HAVE a 200 MHz front Side bus - as has been
reported prior to the DEMO.

Ergo, AMD's K7 has a long way to go before it is ready for "prime time".

Sharpy was demoed at 400 MHz - not 450 MHz. Again, not too
encouraging."...

You give these Analysts way too much credit if you think they can weigh all that... They ain't that smart...they don't know a BUS from a RAM...
As for Sharpy...I think it will scale with the K6-2 so 400 is tops for now...
The other thing I heard at the fronton was that the K7 was actually running faster than 500MHz....but can't verify it...
Regards, Jim
