I believe the First Call estimate is a moving average of estimated earnings ALWAYS one year out (for the next year) and is not based on Lattice's actual fiscal period.

On the Quotron they show three earnings numbers:
(1) Trailing earnings (past twelve months total actually booked)
(2) Current earnings (cumulative earnings YTD)
(3) Future earnings based on Fisrt Call estimates. (Future analyst estimates).

The #F Quotron for forecasted earnings is based on (a) Date of last earnings forecast in the Quotron Systems database (b) Earnings forecast for specified year "Wall Street Estimates" provided by Zacks Invetment Services (c) Net change from last actual earnings.

There is a forcasted year code which I need to check to see if it is for 1997 or 1998.

I look at not only the actual number but also the (1) changes up or down, (2) No. of consecutive changes up or down and (3) rate of change of the number.

The number I have been posting is the Quotron #F figure udated weekly.

Thanks for the input.
