I think it depends on your situation, AR. If you had been long some stocks for more than a few months which had appreicated some leading up to October -- going to cash to protect gains/avoid losses, IMO was a good idea. I thought there would be a bounce, but I would not have guessed we would eclipse the old highs -- so again (whether it was smart or not, I don't know) I would not have gone long at the troughs in Sept or Oct.
