Anti-Microsoft Group Enlists Bob Dole
by Heather McCabe
wired.com

......

The naming of Dole as an adviser to the lobby is somewhat peculiar, despite his epic 35-year career in the House and Senate. He's not known for his tech savoir-faire, and has come down strongly against government regulation, even where Microsoft is concerned.

In June 1995, the Kansas Republican criticized the Justice Department for its exploratory antitrust probe of the Microsoft Network. "A company develops a new product -- a product consumers want," Dole said then. "But now the government steps in and is in effect attempting to dictate the terms on which that product can be marketed and sold. Pinch me, but I thought we were still in America."

(Pinch me too, what the price tag for you? )

What a difference a check will make. Netscape brought Dole and Bork onto its payroll a couple of months ago when the group was forming.

......

( This is the ethical and moral practice some people so fond of. )
