Michael,

I think notebooks are booming worldwide especially within corporations. We have been buying Toshiba Tecra's at work like there is no tomorrow. Backorder for most of the year was in terms of months. Whenever, a new, fancier, more powerful notebook is introduced by any of the reputable companies, they cannot meet demand for quite some time. I think 1997 will go down as the year of the notebook. I think explosion is probably the right description. In addition, I think notebooks are becoming more popular among consumers especially as prices become more competitive. People want to be able to access the web from any room, any buidling, cars, beaches, etc....portability is going to be the next HUGE opportunity for the technology industry.
