Well what I thought it was, wuz the link from CDROM to /dev/hdb or whatever as if the system was looking for a reference to cdrom
and couldn't find it. If you link backwards so the arrow shows /dev/hdb--->CDROM then what?

I tink there is something broken in the way the link was made and you should link to the boot device ie ATAPI driver or whatever..

The device fule USED to read /dev/hdb but maybe that is something written by the system when it finds the actual driver.
