I don't know why the industry has not taken to hedging its exposure to rising fuel prices. The decision to examine the pros and cons of hedging usually comes from the CFO, rarely the CEO. Perhaps he thinks that prices are in a long-term downtrend, so why lock in higher prices, although that would be a self-serving assumption. I just don't know. It seems so obvious to me. There's no reason I can think of why he can't do it. I'll just call investor relations tomorrow and ask .
