I made a toy for a cat out of string, about six feet of string and a small paper ball. I would drag it around the house (because sometimes they can hurt themselves if you suspend them from the ceiling, you know.....)

I come in the front room and there is Silq with a piece of string. About eight inches. Hmmmmm. She's eating it. I try to take it away from her. It's stuck in her mouth. She growls.

It's really all that freaking string in her stomach, and that's why she's been so quiet the last half hour.

Hooooo.

What to do. I realized if it got too far, like over the time it would take to reach a vet, she could be in serious distress.

So, ONCE AGAIN, "It's OK, little kitty; it's OK; it'll be all right; hold still little kitty........."

It took about three minutes to hold her back and pull all the string out. Like reverse fishing. She didn't like that idea one bit, as she had nearly finished her plan.

She was OK.

I don't know why anyone owns these things.
